Sillaotsa Museum
What kind of habitat is a forest in Estonia?
In spring you can see blue, white and yellow flowers blooming in the forest. There are thistles as on this photo.
From trees there are willows, birches, spruces etc. In Sillaotsa forest there were 26 different kind of trees. Some of them were planted and brought to Estonia from other countries.
Pond as a habitat with tadpoles.
If you take young branches of willow tree and stick them to the ground and water them soon you will see that they are growing. Here is man made round willow edge what children found fascinating since they could go in there.
What tree is that? Apple tree of course.
Old engines.
If you think this is hair you are wrong. It is wool and linen.
In old times people used 4 horses to push this around so the machine could start working. It works also with child power.We tried.
Old tractors.
What is he doing? He is making toys from wood. This is what children did. They used a knife and carved cows, sheep etc. from wood pieces.

Harjumaa Museum
This Friday Grade 1 and 2 visited Harjumaa Museum.
At first we walked in the park and saw old castle ruins built by Germans.
Then our tour guide showed us a sacred stone. The old story tells us that a landlord beat to death his worker`s 7 sons. To remember this the father of those boys planted 7 lime trees around this stone. Even nowadays this place is sacred for people. They come and put candles on the stone.
In the museum we saw many household items that people used in old times. Such as coffee grinder,an old ``lunch box``, ``water bottle``, fishing tools, sewing machine to make shoes from leather and many other things.
Before we left we saw a huge model of Keila County.
I think everyone saw and learned something new on this trip. Thank you Ms. Maren for organizing it!
